VOLUME OF INVESTMENT
BEG were planning to replace the existing incineration lines at the location of the waste-fired power plant in Bremerhaven. The power plant consisted of three identical incineration lines. Commissioned in 1977, the core of this plant was now more than 30 years old, and had consequently reached the end of its service life.
As part of a feasibility study W+G examined the replacement of the existing grate and boiler in consideration of a moderate modification in capacity. This study focused on the possibilities of installing various types of boiler, as well as a comparison of the various options for the best possible implementation without interrupting operation of the plant during the construction period.
W+G was responsible for planning and implementing the extension of the recovery system for district heating.
