Zweckverband Restmüllheizkraftwerk Böblingen
2016 - 2019
The Association RBB (Zweckverband RBB) is operating a waste incineration plant with two household waste incineration lines with a total capacity of 140.000 Mg/a and downstream wet flue gas cleaning systems. The flue gas cleaning of both lines shall be transformed to a dry process on the basis of sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) with upstream dosing of calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2). In addition the extraction of waste heat from the flue gas via two flue gas heat exchangers and integration of the heat into the existing district heating grids of the cities of Sindelfingen and Böblingen forms part of the project.
The conversion takes place in two steps:
1. Step: Conversion into a single stage dry scrubbing process with NaHCO3 (interim solution)
2. Step: Conversion to a two-stagedry scrupping process with Ca(OH)2 und NaHCO3 (final solution)
The reconnections for the first step have taken place during the revision stop in 2018. The reconnections of the second step will take place in 2019.
